Finally, after two years of crazy-cold-but-nonetheless-snow-free winter weather in the 'ville, we had enough snow last night to have a snow day. Unfortunately, after it snowed about four inches, a bout of sleet came through, making the whole landscape resemble a pie crust. Definitely not the "noman" making weather Jonathan wanted. Also unhappily is the fact that the snow apparently brought with it a monster that replaced my normally sweet child. I know he was in time out ten times today. Luckily Beanie Weenies and Blues Clues brought some whine-free time, but I'd better type quickly as I am certain it will be short lived.
Due to the general crankiness, I was not able to take many pictures. In fact, only two. First, Jonathan as we were heading outside despite the fact that it was raining on top of the snow and ice:
And here is a glimpse of the ickiness outdoors. I stayed for two seconds but Jonathan enjoyed it and hung out with Daddy while he cleared the sidewalks.
One bright spot is this cake that I did for our Valentine's luncheon at work tomorrow. The inside is three layers and is supposed to be checkerboard pink and white but I will not know for sure until tomorrow:

Your cake is awesome!!! I bought a checkerboard kit around CHristmas but haven't broken it out yet. Darn weight watchers.
My kids get sooo excited when they see 'now too, and it's hard to explain to a two year old that 1/2 an inch will either a. be gone by noon or b. will not make a 'nowman.
I can't say anything about Jonathan's mood...the snow brought out the crankiness in me, too. But he sure looks cute in his snow gear!
Jonathan just looks priceless in that hat!!!! I'm glad Jonathan enjoyed his little snow outing. Cameron and Ava have been cooped up indoors for a few days now and it's been Cranky-Toddler-Central in the house! Hopefully we can venture out tomorrow.
And may I just say that I LOVE THAT CAKE!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, Jennifer, your cake decorating skills are awesome!!!
What a cool cake! I can't wait to see the inside.
We had TWO snow days in a row. I love them, even though we are housebound!
Yay for snow days!! You cake looks amazing. I hope you will take pictures of the inside. Wow, you are really getting good at that stuff.
Yay for the cake!!!! I'm impressed!
Snow makes me cranky too! I hate being stuck inside all day.
Your cake looks awesome!!
Can I just say that the lines on your cake are so amazingly straight! People that don't decorate cakes don't realize how hard that is to do! Great job! And super cute to boot!
I don't know what it is about kids just wanting to be out in the cold muckiness. My boys always want to go outside and I'm always like, "WHY?!" It takes at least 30 min. to get them all geared up and dressed and then they go out, throw a couple snowballs and then come back in. In my opinion, total waste of time but they love it so we let them. We have plenty of "noman" making snow here. Wish I could send it your way!
Your cake rocks!!! And Jonathan looks awesome in that hat!
